Life without children: making the most of life? |

I love kids, as long as they're other people's! When my friends bring their babies round, I love playing with them and giving them their bottles, but that's where it stops - I don't do nappies or baths! When you're at a party and you hear a woman say to her partner, "Darling, we've got to be back by eleven, we don't want to keep the babysitter up," I thank my lucky stars I don't want kids - I'm 30, not 50!
I want to be able to live my life the way I want to: if I want to go out clubbing, drink, smoke and crawl in at 4 in the morning, I can. If I wake up one day and decide I want to go and live in Australia, I'll do it. I've got the kind of job that allows me freedom, and I want to make the most of it.
My boyfriend would like kids, and we argue constantly about it. He says it's because I don't want commitment. What he doesn't realise is that just living with him is a big enough commitment for someone like me…
