Hate kids: not like children

Ailish, 31, is president of an organisation for the rights of homeless people.

All babies do is cry and wake up in the middle of the night to be fed! Then when they get a bit older they make a mess, break things and ask you silly questions. And then they turn into sulky teens, slum around on the sofa and bring home annoying friends. I only think people get interesting when they're adults!  

Are kids the centre of our universe?
I'll happily admit it: I don't like kids. I don't run away every time I see a baby, but I'm just not interested in children. And I don't like the concept that kids are the centre of your universe. I'm struggling to explain to my partner, who wants us to have a family. We're constantly rowing about it, and he's determined to make me change my mind. I don't think so somehow...
