A normal, fertile couple has a 20% chance of conceiving per cycle. In other words, even if you make love during your most fertile period, you only have one chance in four of becoming pregnant.

Be patient. Only one in four couples manage to conceive during the first month after stopping contraception, and two thirds in six months. Chance plays a big part in conception, so try to keep calm when your period appears at the end of the month - stressing and obsessing won't increase your chances.
