Elie Saab's new collection is as dreamy as ever. The Lebanese designer showcased a collection of fairytale dresses, many of them short, worn with boleros. This season, Saab has gone for restrained colours, and while the shades he uses aren't as bright as they have been in previous seasons, they are the ultimate in haute couture class. We especially loved the sea greens, browny greys and silvery greys, and almost all of his creations were adorned with embroidery and glittering gems. Reef knots were also a huge feature of the show. It wouldn't be Saab without pleats and folds: on the décolleté, on belts, on skirts with high waistlines or Empire line with a fanned effect. Most of Saab's designs were fairly conservative with the décolleté, but extravagant on sleeves, showing off the shoulders. The finale of the Saab show featured a beautiful 'bride' in a stunning tulle embroidered and spangly dress with reef knot detailing over the chest, a cape in cascading embroidered tulle and a 7 metre train carried by three bridesmaids in matching outfits. Full marks for elegance.
