To celebrate ten years at Dior, John Galliano surprised everyone by sending his models parading among the audience gathered for his catwalk show! He then transformed the catwalk into a veritable theatre. Stunning geisha girls with scarlet lips and milky complexions graced the catwalk in long bustier dresses. In a nod to the Japanese art of origami, we saw a kimono dress embroidered with dragonflies, a skintight grey and pink dress with pleats on the bottom half, a bubble dress in garnet with a corolla bustier decorated with daisies... Right down to the daring and sometimes outrageous make-up, it was pure, undiluted and wacky Galliano. Sydney Toledano, managing director at Dior, said in his speech: "What defines the magic of Dior is the expertise, craftsmanship and excellence that is only found in designer creations." Enough said.
