Workers in jumpsuits were first onto the Chanel catwalk, where they laid out an enormous carpet with the Chanel brand on. The audience bristled with anticipation…
The day creations featured the classic Chanel suit, worn with opaque tights. The mini featured strongly in the collections, though barely visible beneath heavy oversized jackets. Tweed in black, cream and red, or in contrasting black and neutral colours, and checks also featured.
Mysterious shapes features in the evening wear, with lots of black feathers - very Maria Callas. Many models wore beautiful sequinned tulle headbands. For party dresses, there was a distinct 'disco meets ballroom' feel, with visible straps, volume, feathers and shimmering sexy fairytale dresses worthy of Coco herself.
For the finale, a huge curtain opened to reveal all the staff at Chanel, and Karl, his models and staff applauded their huge success.
