Suzanne Clements and Ignacio Ribeiro asked Finnish artist Klaus Haapaniemi to work with them on the Cacharel show, and the resulting festival of beautifully retro prints in subdued colours graced everything from dresses to bags - even the show's backdrop. It was a romantic folky collection of young, sexy outfits, featuring bare backs and short skirts, which looked quaint rather than vulgar. Sun-bleached colours, vertical stripes and muted Hawaii prints in tones of raspberry, mint, blue, coral and chocolate on pretty pleated sundresses and three quarter-length sleeve jackets chimed together for a healthy, well-brought-up-young-lady look, from a brand which is currently wooing a younger clientele. Cotton and jersey were star fabrics in a Liberty-esque ultra-summer collection.
