Hot on the heels
of last year's Liberty-style prints, came African
batik at Cacharel. Using a brown-based palette,
which included greens and yellows, design team
Clements Ribeiro gave us shorts (a must-have
for Spring/Summer 05), knee-length dresses and
skirts and short coats. Even evening dresses
had a touch of batik, worn both long and fluid,
as well as short and sequinned. A special mention
goes to the final outfit, a Liberty print customised
with thin strips of chestnut leather, both highly
original and easy to wear.
