Rosemary Rodriguez, designer for Paco Rabanne, concentrated on the modern woman's "desire for freedom" and her journey through life. This made for a romantic collection, with bohemian and ethnic influences: Tunisian-inspired blouses, embroidered cotton, flared skirts, a dress with fiery feathers and a jacket and shorts set in python skin…
As usual for Paco Rabanne metal was everywhere, as ribbons, rings, breastplates and jackets, with a sixties-style mother-of-pearl mini dress in a nod to Francoise Hardy's 1960s metal version. Sixties style also cropped up on tunics worn over cropped trousers.
