Amanda Seyfried tries to smooth over Anne Hathaway dress drama
After a last minute dress clash was discovered ahead of the ceremony, 30-year-old Best Supporting Actress Oscar winner Anne went into a massive panic.
The Dark Knight Rises star had caused red carpet controversy after it was announced she'd be wearing a dress from her long-term designer friend Valentino, but instead turned up in a pink Prada column number.
Although everything appeared fine on the surface, Anne was subsequently forced to issue a public apology to Valentino and lifted the lid on the reasons for her last minute swap.
She said: “It came to my attention late that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear, and so I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans.”
Initially it was unknown as to which dress - and which star - the Oscar winner was referring to in her statement.
The Mean Girls star wore a lilac halter-neck dress embellished with silver dragonfly embroidery, while Anne’s original dress is said to have featured similar silver details, with the addition of large flowers over the pale purple hue.
Ever the professional, both girls acted like nothing was wrong on the big night, even taking to the stage to take part in the dazzling Les Mis medley featuring the entire cast.
But it would seem that Anne still harbours some ill feeling towards the 27-year-old, while the Mamma Mia! star is keen to smooth things over.
Hoping to end the dress drama publicly, Amanda took to Twitter to exclaim: “Fact: I love you Anne!”
The Oscar winner isn’t on the social networking site and has yet to reply, so we'll have to wait and see if these two former co-stars will kiss and make up.
