And it seems Andy's two cute puppies Maggie May and Rusty were just as pleased with his results as they've been wearing the medals around the house!

Barely a day after being presented with them, Andy Murray and his girlfriend Kim Sears have posted a photo on the dogs’ Twitter account of the pooches proudly modelling Murray’s awards.

Alongside the adorable pic, Kim has written: "Here we go folks... Just checking to make sure Rusty definitely has the silver, obviously."

Despite a painful loss at this year’s Wimbledon to Federer, Murray stormed through the singles in straight sets to win gold, and then with partner Laura Robson he achieved silver in the mixed doubles.

After winning against Federer, the jubilant 25-year-old tennis pro climbed into the player’s box to celebrate his victory by kissing his girlfriend and embracing his supportive mum.

It's reported that Andy's girlfriend Kim is behind the dogs’ Twitter page and the known animal lover regularly tweets funny jokes and photos pretending to be the cute pooches.

Previously Kim has written on the site: “Kate Middleton's dog is stealing column inches. This has not gone unnoticed, and I'll step out without underwear tomorrow to compensate.”

But it would seem by wearing Murray’s medals Maggie May and Rusty have more than managed to outshine their canine rivals.
