Anne Hathaway keen to compete as part of Olympic swim team
The Dark Knight Rises star instead wishes she'd had the talents to take part in the London 2012 Olympics as part of the US swim team.
The 29-year-old, who will soon be seen starring in the film adaptation of hit theatre musical Les Miserables, has been addicted to watching the Games.
Anne has been fervently rooting for US swimmer Michael Phelps, who's the most decorated athlete in Olympic history.
She told Vulture: “I totally get geeky about the Olympics. There's so much tension, you don’t know what's going to happen.
“You know that swim that Michael Phelps just had where he tied for the record but came in silver, and it looked like up until the final millisecond he was going to win?
“My heart jumped into my throat.”
Anne has a lot of love for the female swimmers too, who so far have won nine medals in the 2012 Olympics - four of which are gold.
The actress gushed: “The entire US women’s swim team is blowing my mind right now.
“There has been so much focus on the men’s swim team, who are all fantastic, and the women have just kind of crept in there and have all done so well.”
Although Anne has dreams of being an Olympic medallist, she’s practical about her chances at getting the gold.
She said: “I would love to be on the US women's gymnastics team or the US women's swim team.
“There is no basis for this wish - I can’t dive, swim, or tumble - but I really think those look fun.”
After seeing her moves as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, we’re sure Anne Hathaway has more athletic ability than she’s letting on!
