Cheryl Cole teases Tre Holloway about marriage in revealing documentary
Fans of Cheryl Cole have missed getting their telly fix of the gorgeous Geordie star since she left X Factor in 2010.
But the Call My Name singer made a celebrated return to TV screens last night in her candid ITV documentary Cheryl Cole: Access All Areas.
The show gave an insight into the lead up to her solo tour last year, and many were excited to catch a glimpse of the 29-year-old’s budding relationship with her backing dancer Tre Holloway.
Since her acrimonious divorce with disgraced footballer Ashley Cole, the Girls Aloud star has gone to great lengths to keep her love life private.
But the smitten star made a rare choice to show off her new man and allowed herself to be filmed during more tender moments, kissing and happily cuddling up to Tre.
The intimate documentary followed Cheryl as she rehearsed for her tour, but it also allowed her legions of fans a closer inspection of her new relationship.
Speaking about performing on stage with Tre, the former X Factor judge gushed to the camera: “There's a stronger connection and a chemistry that you wouldn't have with any other dancer.
“To have that relationship is rare. To be able to have that with you and share those moments is pretty special actually.”
The closeness of the pair was revealed as Cheryl comforted a distraught Tre after he broke his leg just before her first show.
The injury meant he couldn’t perform on stage with his girlfriend and Cheryl explained: “He's nervous, it's his life, it's his livelihood. It's like me losing my voice - what would I do?
“He's upset with himself as I asked him not to back flip, about five times.”
It’s also clear that Tre has a lot to get used to as Cheryl’s boyfriend, as seen when the Fight For This Love singer teased him about the gossip that’s currently being printed about the pair.
She joked: “Did you know we're getting married in the winter?”
As Tre looked at the magazine that printed the story, he replied: “I can't handle that.”
Cheryl clearly still finds it frustrating to be the subject of intense public scrutiny.
She grumbled to the camera: “It still blows my mind the amount of lies and rubbish is written about me by people in an office...
“It's all new to Tre. It's crazy to him, I've had it for 10 years, I know how it works. It's more hurtful when the media intrude on my loved ones. They didn't ask for this.”
During the documentary, the Promise This singer was trending with the Twitter hashtag “#CherylAAA”, but it wasn’t just her three million followers who appeared to love the show.
Cheryl's celebrity friends also took to Twitter to gush about how much they love the popstar.
Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts wrote: “The feeling of total overwhelming emotion, so so full of pride when u see someone u love so much doing what they love & be so happy is too much.. I'm so proud of you @CherylCole.”
Nick Grimshaw tweeted: “I'm gonna swan dive into the studio tomorrow morning @CherylCole."
Overwhelmed by the positive response from all her friends and fans, Cheryl wrote herself: “I love you so much, and thank you xx”.
