David Beckham surprises fans in Olympic photo booth
Footballing legend David Beckham
turned up at Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford City to join his fans taking part in the Take The Stage campaign run by Adidas.
Once they got over the initial shock, the members of the public stood alongside David, waving Union Jack flags and wearing comedy oversized glasses for the camera.
Sixty members of the public were given the opportunity to meet the LA Galaxy star, including young school boy Christian Lewis, who was moved to tears after hugging his idol.
His mother Elaine told the Daily Mail: “It’s his hero. David Beckham just showed his face round the corner of the booth and said 'can I jump in?’
“My son started crying and it made me start crying too. It was absolutely amazing.”
David later posted the snaps on his Facebook page and wrote: “Had a great day with adidas today. They created a special Olympic photobooth where people could come and take pics.
“Nobody knew I was there and I surprised everyone that came in. Here are some pics of great reactions. Enjoyed meeting all the British fans.”
The former England skipper also posted a video online of his secret meet and greet:
