After winning trophies at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards, competitive actors Sasha Baron Cohen and Damien Lewis decided to take on Olympic heroes Louis Smith and Greg Rutherford.

The four men went head-to-head in a cut-throat game of table tennis doubles at an intimate A-list GQ Awards after-party.

Despite long-jump champion Greg and gymnast Louis winning a gold and silver medal respectively at the London 2012 Olympics, it turns out that the pair were no match for the Hollywood actors who reportedly triumphed during their ping pong encounter.

The surreal battle took place at a lavish north London home at around 2am, and although there are no photos of their fierce table tennis fight, reportedly they were cheered on by a whole host of A-listers.

According to The Sun the match was watched by Bono, Liam Gallagher, James Corden, Jimmy Carr, Michael Fassbender and Cristine Ohuruogu.

Speaking of the victors’ athletic prowess, The Sun’s showbiz editor Gordon Smart revealed: “Homeland hero Damian was the stand-out talent. Sasha was a bit more Borat than Forrest Gump with his hand-eye co-ordination, but his commentary made up for it.”

He added that it was “a pinch yourself moment” watching the four men in their designer suits do battle.

In recent weeks Team GB have become the most sought-after celebs, but it seems like they are still adjusting to their new-found fame, with The Sun’s showbiz editor revealing that “the Olympians looked like they couldn’t believe they were there.”

Unfortunately according to The Sun, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher had a bit of trouble remembering Mo Farah’s name at the awards bash, confessing: “I kept getting his name wrong. I was calling him Mia Farrow.”
