Katy Perry has opened up about her first love, who was in actual fact a girl.
What, you thought I Kissed a Girl was just conjured out of thin air? How could a song that has lyrics with such emotional weight not be drawn from experience?!
The Fireworks singer revealed to The Sun: “When I was 15, I fell in love with a female friend. I thought she was beautiful and wanted to be like her.”
However, unlike I Kissed a Girl, apparently no kissing was actually done at all, as Katy never revealed her feelings to her friend.
“She had such a huge impact on my life, but I never told her how I felt.”
Apparently this wasn’t just a teenage phase though, as Katy remains fascinated with women – well, who can blame her, we are great.
“Actually, I’m obsessed with beautiful women and their elegance. I like the paradox of appearing innocent and sexy all at once,” the raven-haired beauty admitted.
She has also revealed that if a certain Hollywood siren was interested, her boyfriend John Meyer would immediately get the boot.
“I’ve told my boyfriend that if Scarlett Johansson wanted to go out with me, I’d ditch him immediately. Female beauty can be incredibly powerful.”

The Roar singer’s new music video for the single Unconditionally shows a woman lip-synching the song to her female partner.
But despite being obsessed with female beauty and a force of stunning nature herself, Katy also wasn’t afraid to admit that behind closed doors she is an utter slob, saying: “I get drunk, I pick my nose, I swear and I fart! I don’t care, I’m not planning to become the President of the United States.”
Hang on, so President Obama doesn’t do any of those things? We are very dubious as to whether that is true, we’ve all seen the snap of him with a pint of Guinness!
