Kelly Osbourne backs Joan Rivers in Rihanna Twitter spat
The spat kicked off following 24-year-old singer Rihanna's emotional interview with Oprah Winfrey
earlier this month, in which she confessed she still had feelings for her abusive ex Chris Brown.
Joan, who co-hosts Fashion
Police, tweeted after the interview aired: "Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown. Idiot! Now it's MY turn to slap her.
"Honey, @Rihanna, everyone knows: If he hit you once, he’ll hit you again. Read the statistics. PS - Love to have you on Fashion Police!"
was attacked by Chris, 23, before the Grammy Awards three years ago and as a result took out a restraining order on the R'n'B singer.
She broke down in tears during her chat with Oprah, in which she also admitted since the restraining order's lifted that she's been working on her friendship with Chris.
Rihanna replied to Joan: “Joan_Rivers wow u really do get slow when you're old huh?”She added: “Slap on some diapers.”
But Kelly - daughter of Sharon and Ozzy and Joan's co-host on Fashion Police - wasn't impressed with RiRi's disrespectful comments to the 79-year-old.
Kelly, 27, tweeted: "With the greatest of respect 2 a young lady of whom I love please get a sense of humour @Joan_Rivers paved the way 4 all us opinionated ladies!”
But it seems Rihanna struggles to see the funny side of a very painful situation that involved the love of her life.
She told Oprah: "He was my first love and I see that he loved me the same way. I truly love him. The main thing for me is he's at peace.
"I'm not at peace if he's not happy or he's still lonely. I care. It actually matters that he finds that peace."
