Kim Kardashian’s bitter rivalry with Beyoncé continues
Their partners Jay-Z and Kanye West might be best friends and collaborators, but Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian reportedly can’t stand each other.
Sources have claimed that Beyoncé and Kim aren't close at all and don't communicate, even when they’re watching their men perform.
This weekend the animosity between the pair was clear for all to see as they ensured they kept their distance from each other as they cheered on Kanye and Jay-Z, who were performing at Made In America festival in Philadelphia.
The frosty relationship can’t make it easy for Beyoncé’s husband of over four years and Kim’s boyfriend of 5 months, as the rappers have been spending a lot of time together touring their album Watch The Throne.
A source at the festival told the New York Daily News newspaper: “Kim and Beyoncé barely spoke to each other.
“They were on opposite sides of the stage. Beyoncé didn't even acknowledge [Kim] was there until the concert was almost over.
“[Kim] didn't make any efforts to go speak to Beyoncé either.”
Backstage it was harder to avoid each other, and reportedly in the dressing room insiders say they spoke a little to each other but the atmosphere was tense.
The source continued: “Eventually, the women made small talk in the dressing room, but you could tell Kim was uncomfortable.
“She clung onto Kanye the entire time and didn't say much. Kim was talking to Jonathan, and Kanye was talking to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.”
Usually eager to be in the spotlight, Kim uncharacteristically avoided cameras at the event.
But Beyoncé, who was having a rare night off from looking after her seven-month-old daughter Blue Ivy, was spotted excitedly cheering on her husband during his show with Kanye.
Despite Kim and Beyoncé often finding themselves thrown together, their friendship has not developed.
Some believe that the pop star is deliberately keeping her distance after her fans criticised her for spending time with the Keeping Up With The Kardashian star back in June.
Beyoncé’s fans had taken to Twitter to express outrage at her budding friendship with Kim, whose route to fame was sparked by an appearance in a sex tape.
An insider recently revealed to the New York Daily News that Kim was determined to become friends with the Crazy In Love singer and has a strategic plan to gain Beyoncé's trust.
“She’s hung with them a few times already, but she isn’t saying peep about them,” a source told the paper.
“She’s not tweeting or taking pictures with Beyoncé because she doesn’t want to seem desperate.”
But it seems like the reality star’s strategy is doomed to fail as Beyoncé has been making a concerted effort to distance herself from any association with her.
