Kristen Stewart’s career suffers as she stays in hiding
Kristen Stewart has dropped out of a new film role and cancelled an appearance at the premiere of On The Road.
The actress is still in hiding following the revelation that she was carrying on an affair with Rupert Sanders, the married director of Snow White And The Huntsman.
According to the Daily Mail the 22-year-old is “too ashamed” to show her face following her infidelities.
Kristen Stewart was due to start filming new movie Cali, directed by The Notebook’s Nick Cassavetes and also starring Alex Pettyfer.
Gossip Cop are now claiming that Amber Heard is joining the cast, although it’s not known if she will be taking over Kristen’s role.
The shamed Twilight star has also reportedly pulled out of her On The Road premiere in London next Thursday to avoid facing awkward questions.
A source told RadarOnline: “Kristen won’t be doing the red carpet for On The Road, she’s too ashamed to show her face in public right now.
“After everything that has been said, and in light of the revelations that she cheated on Robert with director Rupert Sanders, she’s running scared at the moment.
“There’s also the dilemma of standing next to her co-star Tom Sturridge. He’s very close to Rob and Kristen thinks it would be awkward for her to promote the movie on the red carpet alongside him.”
The insider went on to add that the actress fears her attendance will “detract” from the movie itself.
On The Road is the much-anticipated film adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s bestselling road journey novel and boasts a star-studded cast including Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen and Steve Buscemi.
Meanwhile, Kristen’s heartbroken ex Robert Pattinson is soldiering on with his film commitments and will be promoting his new film Cosmopolis next week.
The 25-year-old Brit is due to appear at the New York premiere on Monday, followed up with his first televised interview since the affair scandal broke on Good Morning America.
