The evening was a who's who of soap, as the cast of Emmerdale was awarded for its Outstanding Contribution to TV and BBC1's EastEnders won the Best Soap Award.
Two of the programme's male stars also picked up individual accolades, with Shane Richie securing Best Soap Actor for his portrayal of loveable Alfie Moon and heartthrob Tony Discipline was awarded Best Newcomer for his role as Tyler Moon.
Although the casts of The Only Way Is Essex and Made In Chelsea were out in full force sporting glowing tans and a huge smiles, they surprisingly lost out on Best Reality Show, which went to I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here.
Keith Lemon looked pleased as punch when Celebrity Juice scooped Best Entertainment Show, while Jeremy Kyle won Best Daytime Show for his controversial programme.
BBC bosses were thrilled to see Doctor Who take home the gong for Best Family Drama and Call The Midwife win the award for Best New Drama.
In addition, Best Drama Series went to BBC’s Sherlock and the Best Factual Entertainment Show was awarded to Top Gear.
X Factor lost out on the Best Talent Show award to Britain's Got Talent, and Best Food Show went to The Hairy Bikers' Bakeation, while Channel Four's Supersize Vs Superskinny won the Best Lifestyle Show award.
