New mums Lily Allen and Pink set to collaborate on new song
They’re both outspoken young singers, so surely it was only a matter of time before Pink
and Lily Rose Cooper, aka Lily Allen, got together to record a song.
The pair reportedly got together in LA and collaborated on what is sure to be a characteristically gobby and sweary duet for Pink’s latest record The Truth About Love, due out in September.
A source told The Mirror: “It was the first time they’d met, though they’ve spoken on the phone and emailed before.
"They’re huge fans of each other’s music, so Lily was thrilled when Pink asked her to get involved with her new album.”
This will be 27-year-old Lily's first song since she quit the music industry in 2009 to become a mum, having since set up a record label and started her own vintage
clothing business with her sister Sarah.
But she clearly missed being in the spotlight and is about to launch a musical comeback, as soon as she puts the finishing touches to her score for the Bridget Jones musical.
The source continued: “Lily is five months pregnant and Pink told her she couldn’t believe how amazing Lily looked, and that she could still manage to wear heels while that far gone.
“Pink told her: ‘I looked like a cheesecake at five months!’ Which made Lily giggle.
“They were comparing notes about parenthood, too, as both their daughters are about the same age, and had a lengthy discussion about prams.
"Lily took Ethel out to LA to meet her, too.”
Pink, real name Alecia Beth Moore, is mum to 14-month-old Willow, while Lily is mum to eight-month-old Ethel.
Reportedly the pair even booked a babysitter and had a girlie night out in LA to celebrate their newfound friendship.
It's unknown whether Lily dug out her favourite pink wig for the occasion, but we bet the new mums definitely let their hair
