Dancer Danielle - who met Liam when she danced on X Factor in 2010 - is said to have moved out of Liam's London flat just months after settling in.

Long distance and the constant threats sent to 24-year-old Danielle were reportedly behind the split.

A source told The Sun: “It was getting impossible to keep it going. They were apart so much and everything that was being said to Danielle on Twitter was getting to her.

“They both still care for each other and will remain friends, but it all just got too much.”

Liam, 19, recently said he thought Danielle was "the one" - though he did hint that she'd been finding life as a One Direction girlfriend difficult.

He said: “Danielle’s got over a million followers on Twitter, it’s just crazy.“She’s been getting stopped in the street. She got chased by some girl in the park the other day, which is scary.

“They seem to have settled to the idea now, but every so often she gets death threats and stuff and she doesn’t need that.

“Danielle’s not the most confident person in the world and really takes note of what people say.”

Liam has been forced to stick up for Danielle on Twitter in the past after she was called "ugly" and even received death threats from jealous fans.

No doubt Liam will be seeking support from fellow single band mates Harry Styles and Niall Horan.

Meanwhile, Zayn Malik is loved up with Little Mix star Perrie Edwards and Louis Tomlinson is in a long-term relationship with part-time model Eleanor Calder.

Liam and Danielle actually met through 18-year-old Harry.

He's previously said: "This has never been told before, but when I actually got with my girlfriend, Harry was the boy that set us up.

"Harry is the magic match-up man. He is like Hitch - he can do for everyone else but not himself."
