The Twilight co-stars lived in the $6.3 million Los Feliz property for nearly a year, but Rob, 26, moved out last month after Kristen admitted that she cheated on him.
An insider told Us Weekly: "He said there are too many memories."
Rob has already taken his belongings out of the house, while Kristen is yet to officially move out - though she's been staying elsewhere since the scandal.
Kristen, 22, has reportedly been splitting her time between Burbank, California, and Los Angeles' Woodland Hills, where her parents live.
The actress made a public apology in July after pictures emerged of her in a "romantic clinch" with her married Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, 41.
She has since kept out of the public eye, while Rob's been putting on a brave face as he promotes his latest movie, Cosmopolis.
R-Pattz is now said to be considering meeting up with Kristen, who he dated for three years.
A source told Look magazine: "They talked [on the phone] for about an hour - it was very emotional. Kristen begged to meet face-to-face so they could talk. It was obvious she was getting through to Rob and he has agreed to see her.
"Even though she made a horrendous mistake, Rob can't just switch off his feelings. He was madly in love with her and I think believes that it was a moment of stupidity, not a long, drawn-out affair and it'd never happen again.
"In Rob's eyes, Kristen was seduced and she's clearly not just sorry but completely destroyed by what she's done."
