The 'Iron Man 2' actress has brought in the US FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) to investigate the photos, which was reportedly stolen from her cell phone.
While she has refused to publicly confirm or deny if the shots - one of which appears to show her loosely wrapped in a towel with her butt showing, while the other shows her topless lying on a bed - are genuine, but according to website TMZ, her representatives contacted the law enforcers because they believe a crime has taken place.
Alongside Scarlett, 'Friends with Benefits' co-stars Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake are thought to have been the target of hackers after photos of the pair - including a shirtless snap of Justin- were also leaked.
Laura Eimiller, of the FBI office in Los Angeles, explained: "The FBI is investigating the person or groups responsible for a series of computer intrusions involving high-profile figures."
Eimiller did not name any of the alleged victims "due to the pending nature of our investigation."
