Spice Girls kiss and make up with Liam Gallagher at Olympics
In the nineties Oasis
star Liam Gallagher
and the Spice Girls
were mortal enemies.
But it seems that the pop legends have buried the hatchet after appearing on the same bill at last night’s Olympic closing ceremony.
The row first erupted when Liam famously declared that he wouldn’t go to the Brit Awards in 1997 because “if I bump into the Spice Girls I will smack them”.
Of course the quintet, famous for their slogan of “Girl Power”, weren’t about to let this slide and as they accepted their Brit Award, Mel C challenged Liam to criticise them face-to-face.
She shouted: “Come and 'ave a go if you think you're hard enough.”
But 15 years later it appears that all is forgiven between the one-time foes, who were seen celebrating (minus Victoria) at the afterparty following their performance at the Olympic Stadium.
The Spice Girls were seen chatting with the former Oasis lead singer and they all looked mighty cosy as they posed for a series of photos together.
After Mel B
posted pictures of the happy group on Twitter, Mel C made fun of their previous antagonistic relationship, tweeting: “Love @liamgallagher 'come and 'ave a go!'”
Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell
and Melanie Brown partied until dawn with Liam and Muse drummer Dominic Howard, although Mel B’s former bandmates made fun of her refusal to get changed out of her gold sequin encrusted catsuit.
Emma teased on her Twitter account: “Party till the break of dawn, and Mel is still in her outfit.”
At 3am this morning, Mel C tweeted: “OMG so sad @OfficialMelB get changed!!!”
Adding three hours later: “Ffs @OfficialMelB it's done, get changed lol! x x.”
Perhaps Mel B stayed in the skintight Zuhair Murad bodysuit because she didn’t know how to get out of it?
