Strictly 2012: James Corden sends supportive texts to Lisa Riley

Ex-Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley has blown us all away with her moves on this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

And we're not the only ones she's impressed - Lisa's BFF and former co-star James Corden has been sending the former soap star words of encouragement throughout her stint on the BBC ballroom dancing show.

The 36-year-old told Heat Magazine: “He's been so supportive. He sent me a text saying, 'Go girl!' and his sister Ruth messaged me.

“He's gorgeous. We played best friends for five years on Fat Friends when we were little tots, and we're oldies now. I'm so proud of him.”

James has had a busy time of late - this year he married long-term girlfriend Julia Carey and he's also moved to New York to play the lead in the hit comedy play One Man, Two Guvnors.

He's gone down a storm in the US, winning a coveted Tony Award for Best Performance By A Leading Actor.

And he's also been cast in an A-list movie from Chicago director Rob Marshall that will also star acting legend Meryl Streep.

But the father-of-one clearly still has time for his friends, with Lisa revealing to Heat: “He was amazing when my mum died - he called me the very next day, and he was on Broadway in New York at the time.”

Although James has been making sure to tune in for Lisa’s routines with her professional dancing partner Robin Windsor, she confessed that he probably won’t come and watch her live on the show.

She explains: “I don't think so, no. Strictly is a bit too much glitter and tinsel for James!”

The former Emmerdale actress appreciates his words of encouragement though, and apparently he’s not the only one sending her messages.

The loveable TV star revealed: “I’ve had some very worrying propositions from men on Twitter.

“One asked if he could have a feel of my ‘disco-balls’!

“And another told me he likes it when I run to Tess’ tower on Strictly and there’s a bit of, er, jiggling going on.”
