The festival, which was a storming success, saw 40,000 music fans descend on Hyde Park despite the drizzly weather, and they were joined by a variety of a-list stars including Jason Statham, his girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Katherine Jenkins, Henry Holland and Nicola Roberts.
There were fears that Rihanna, 24, would pull out of her headlining gig due to the very recent death of her grandmother, but the singer didn’t disappoint her fans and dazzled the crowds with a medley of her hits.
Appearing on stage in a black midriff-skimming studded top, lacy high-waisted pants and peacock-patterned cover-up with billowing sleeves, the We Found Love singer showed no sign of her recent loss as she gyrated and even came down into the crowd to sing for her fans.
Earlier festival goers had been treated to an energetic performance from Jessie J, who took to the stage shortly before Rihanna, wearing denim shorts, stripey tights and a white crop top.
Other big names performing at Wireless included Cher Lloyd
and up-and-coming British artist Rita Ora, who recently scored her first number one single with R.I.P.
However Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall, 19, didn’t have such a good time according to The Mirror, after being threatened by a festival-goer who shouted out: “I’m gonna stab you!”
Jade's bandmates Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards
and Leigh-Anne Pinnock
were also at the festival.
