Finnish brand Marimekko, which was huge in the Sixties (think big red flowers with blacks hearts and other funky designs), is set to undergo a revival next summer with a collection for Swedish high street giant H&M.
'Our design team has long admired Marimekko's vivid prints and colours. When our designers came up with the idea of creating a collection with Marimekko prints, it felt natural and just the right time. The summer collection 2008 will be joyfully fresh like a vitamin injection,' says H&M's head of design Margareta van den Bosch.
Marimekko will launch 50 colourful designs for H&M's ready-to-wear collection next April. It looks like we're in for lots of funky Sixties fashion next summer, and as fans of all things fun and graphic, we're certainly not complaining!
