Clarks Originals have teamed up with cult graffiti artist Futura to create a limited edition of one of the Originals heritage classics, the Wallabee boot.
The original Wallabee was introduced by Lance Clark in 1965 and was long since been a favorite with hip hop tycoons. Immortalised in a song by Ghostface, it also became the symbol of Cool Britannia in the 90s, championed by Britpop.
Futura rose to fame in the early seventies, using the subways and streets of New York City as his canvas. His distinctive designs caught the attention of the music world and he was commissioned to design record sleeves for The Clash, Mo’ Wax and UNKLE, amongst others.
Futura's take on the Wallabee incorporates his trademark Atomic Ring tag, laser embossed into the leather, laces in an abstract camouflage print, with the customary Clarks crepe sole and limited edition shoe box.
The Clarks Originals Futura will be available as a limited edition of 200 pairs in the UK available from Schuh, Foot Asylum and RAN. RRP £99.
