2009 is indeniably Chanel's year. Karl Lagerfeld showcased a spring/summer collection that heralds a return to grande simplicité…
In a room filled with white paper flowers (including the Chanel camellia), we saw a parade of falsely demure mini-dresses. Leggings remained a staple and gave a rock edge to classic, chic silhouettes.
Romantic but contemporary was the mantra for the catwalk: we saw petals on a muslin dress, lace strewn with flowers, and just a few discreet feathers on shoulders.
We love: the bridal trouser suit.
Favourite pieces: tweed micro-capes, splashes of black highlighting details and absolutely beautiful camelia hats.
