Karl Lagerfeld documentary film in cinemas

 Karl Lagerfeld stars as himself in Lagerfeld Confidential, in cinemas now.

Director Roldolphe Marconi brings us an intimate and human portrait of one of the most enigmatic figures in fashion, with a unique glimpse into the private life of the iconic Chanel designer, whose public image has always been that of a myserious figure hiding behind those ever-present dark glasses. The film, which took two years to make and features footage from 200 hours of filming, shows Karl Lagerfeld as we've never seen him before: going about his daily business, designing for Chanel, doing celebrity interviews and photoshoots with favourite model Brad.

It's a glimpse into a hectic life in international fashion, seen from a philosophical angle. Lagerfeld is brillant, sarcastic, intelligent, arrogant, lucid and very much the artist. It's detailed, sensitive and maybe even a bit long, and it reveals the many different sides of a complex personality which never fails to surprise. One to watch if you're a die-hard fashion victim or if you just like scathing put-downs à la Lagerfeld!
