Stefano Pilati's second YSL "Manifesto" for his spring/summer 2008 collection will be distributed in the streets of London as a free newspaper tomorrow (23rd February).
Over a million copies of the Manifesto, featuring Kate Moss photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, are to be distributed in cities around the world (London, Milan, New York, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong).
Following the success of the first Manifesto campaign last year, starring Gisele Bundchen, YSL decided to continue with the initiative, which is bringing their collections to the masses in ways a luxury brand has never done before.
You can also see a travelling public installation of life-size images from the Manifesto, never to be seen in any context outside of the project, on 23rd and 24th February at the Dray Walk Gallery, part of Old Truman Brewery, in Shoreditch. A behind-the-scenes Manifesto video will also premiere on February 25 exclusively on ysl.com.
