Diane von Furstenberg held her show on Valentine’s Day, and thankfully there was a lot to love.
Tapping into her girly side, the veteran designer paraded frilly, coquettish dresses and overtly feminine skirts down a sexy liquid black catwalk.
Layers of tulle and piles of chiffon in whisper pink and light gray played under structured blazers of embellished sequins and metallic gold thread.
Unlike most designers who have chosen to stick to basic black in light of the financial crisis, Furstenberg mixed fashion and fun in bright coloured celery turtlenecks, multicoloured patterned skirts, and oversized embellished off-the-shoulder jumpers.
Though some pieces—namely the feather adorned handbags and netted velvet hats—should never be seen off the catwalk, the large majority of Furstenberg’s fall separates were simply ravishing and unquestionably lovely.
