Oxygen Facials: Breathe Life Into Your Face

 - Oxygen Facials: Breathe Life Into Your Face
Oxygen anti-ageing facials are a firm favourite with celebrities including Madonna (who has a machine in each of her homes and is reported to have a daily facial), Eva Longoria Parker, Nicole Kidman, Brad Pitt and so many more. They simply adore the plumping and hydrating effects the oxygen treatment provides to the face while smoothing and diminishing fine lines and wrinkles.

The theory behind oxygenated beauty is that we all need oxygen to survive and oxygen is what revives and replenishes the cells in our bodies. Often due to environmental pollutants, our oxygen content greatly reduces. As we age, inevitably oxygen does not reach skin cells as efficiently, leading to the ageing process and the development of thinner skin and the emergence of wrinkles and age spots. The oxygen facial replenishes the amount of oxygen that the skin receives, leaving it hydrated, super soft, plumper and younger looking. What’s not to love?!

It is a truly luxurious facial, leaving skin feeling firmer, fuller and oozing a healthy glow and radiance. After skin has been thoroughly cleansed and exfoliated, a pulse of pressurised oxygen is applied to the face via a bio-wand using slow delicate movements. The oxygen works in tandem with hyaluronic acid and a rejuvenating cocktail of natural goodness nourishing the serum deep into the skin, which helps regenerate cells and plumps skin. The serum is made up from powerful natural antioxidants including Japanese Green Tea extract, Aloe Vera and Vitamins A, C and E.

The serum is combined with the oxygen technology which stimulates cell regeneration, while enhancing elastin and collagen production which plumps the skin’s surface while visibly reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The fresh, supremely clean feeling you are left with from the icy blasts of cool, pure oxygen is incredibly revitalising. My skin felt so healthy, glowing and deeply cleansed for days afterwards - I can fully empathise with Madonna wanting to revisit that feeling each day!

After the pressurised oxygen has been applied, a combination of highly concentrated oxygen, moisturisers and vitamins are sprayed onto the skin before a refreshing collagen mask is applied together with an oxygen mask to give the optimal finish. This allows the skin to become oxygenated right through from topical to deep layers. Adjusting to the 20-minute mask did take a few minutes as you do feel a little cooped up inside and it does feel a little strange. Who said beauty is all glamour? However, the impact of the oxygen being applied directly to the face is great for purifying the skin, helping to soften and releasing any build-up or toxins, leaving skin flawless and pores minimised.

Following the session my skin looked absolutely radiant and just felt so soft, super fresh and healthy. My dewy, radiant complexion lasted several weeks and the dry condition of my skin has greatly improved courtesy of the hydrating qualities of the facial. Although a course of facials is recommended for optimum longer-lasting results, for those looking for a one-off skin pick-me-up before a big night out the oxygen facial is just perfect.

Bio-Oxygen Facial costs £59.00 each or £249.00 for a course of 5 treatments.
