Plum and walnut crumble

Rating
Plum and walnut crumble Type of dish : Dessert
To serve : 6
Preparation : 10 min
Cooking : 40 min
Budget : Cheap
From : United Kingdom
Difficulty : Easy

Ingredients :
800g red plums
100g caster sugar
175g flour
75g soft butter
75g brown caster sugar
100 to 125g walnuts

Recipe :
Preheat the oven (200°C, gas mark 6-7).

Wash the plums, open them in two and remove the stones. Scatter them into a dish, sprinkle on the caster sugar and mix.

Put the flour into a large bowl with butter (melted at room temperature and divided into small pieces), then rub together quickly using fingertips. Add the brown caster sugar and roughly crushed walnuts.

Alternative method: put all of the ingredients into a mixer and mix for a few seconds until it becomes gritty. To achieve this, cold butter should be used instead of softenend butter. Spread this mixture all over the fruits.

Place in the oven at mid-height and leave to cook for 40 minutes, until the surface is golden brown. Serve directly after removing from the oven.

Advice :
This crumble goes well with single or double cream.
