Ingredients :
Plain potatoes
Butter and milk
Salt, pepper and nutmeg
Recipe :
Wash, peel, chop and cook the potatoes in salty water until soft. Chop them up smaller for faster cooking. Mash with a good-sized chunk of butter and milk, adding more milk to soften the mixture if required. Season to taste and add a couple of pinches of nutmeg for delicious flavour.
Advice :
Add onions, spinach and mustard for a variation on plain mash.
