Ingredients :
1 red cabbage of approx 2 kg
1 onion
1 red apple
200g lard
1 small glass of vinegar
200g bacon
Olive oil
1 teaspoon sugar
Chilli
2 cloves of garlic
Recipe :
Wash the cabbage, then slice thinly.
Do the same with the onions.
Peel and core the apples, then dice.
Dice the bacon also.
Grease a saucepan with lard, put in a layer of cabbage, another of onion and another of apple with little pieces of lard and bacon, then season and sprinkle with sugar.
Repeat until all ingredients used.
Add a little hot water, cover and leave to cook for at least an hour.
After 40 minutes, add a small amount of vinegar and adjust seasoning.
Advice :
Serve with slices of crusty bread.
