Traditional Earl Grey tea |

| |
Ingredients :
Earl Grey tea, loose or in bags
Boiling water
Lemon, if desired
Sugar to taste
Recipe :
To make this bergamot-fragranced tea properly, you need to let the tea steep for long enough to let the flavour infuse.
Boil a kettle of water, then warm teapot up by pouring a little in, swilling it around, then discarding.
Measure tea into teapot - use one spoonful for each person, plus one for the pot, or a teabag per person.
Pour boiling water over tea, stir, then add lid and leave to stand for five minutes.
Meanwhile, if you take your Earl Grey with milk, put a small amount of milk in each tea cup. This is done first, so as not to burn the fat in the milk.
Pour tea over milk, using a strainer if you used loose tea.
Add sugar to taste, then ejoy!
Advice :
Earl Grey is the best tea for making lemon tea, thanks to it's bergamot scent. Just add a slice of lemon instead of milk.
Tea and cakes are two of lifes greatest pleasure... try our Earl Grey cake recipe, Honey scones, Muffins, or Scottish shortbread.
