| Biography |  Published by divine931 | Kelendria Trene Rowland was born in Houston, Texas in 1981. At the age of eleven she joined her cousin, Beyonce Knowles, and her friend LaTavia Roberson to form Destiny's child. In 1993 LeToya Luckett joined and the quartet was complete.
They were signed to Columbia in 1997 and released their debut 'Killing Time', which featured on Will Smith's blockbuster film 'Men in Black'. Their self-named album was made in collaboration with Missy Elliot and Wyclef Jean and came out in 1998. The single 'No, no, no' topped the R&B chart and went platinum before the year's end.
Destiny's child released two more albums 'The Writing's on the Wall' (1999) and 'Survivor' (2001). At the turn of the century they became one of the high-selling all-female groups in history.
Rowland took time out from Destiny's child and released her R&B solo album 'Simply Deep' in 2002 |
