| Biography |  Published by vio0107 | Minnie Driver (real name Amelia), was born in London in 1971. She was raised in Barbados and educated in Paris and Grenoble. After leaving school, she returned to London, where she worked as a jazz singer and guitarist.
Her first major film role was as Benny, in 'Circle of Friends' (1995) opposite Chris O'Donnell. But it was 'Sleepers' (1996) with Robert De Niro, Brad Pitt and Kevin Bacon, which threw her into the limelight. Since then she has been notable for her performances in 'Grosse Pointe Blank' (1997) with John Cussack, 'Good Will Hunting' (1997) with Matt Damon (who famously dumped her on live TV), 'An Ideal Husband' (1999) with Rupert Everett, plus 'High Heels and Low Lifes' (2001).
Minnie was engaged to Josh Brolin, son of Barbara Streisand, but was apparently driven mad by her taking over the wedding plans. Minnie released her debut album, 'Everything I've got in my Pocket' in 2004, she has a sister, Kate, who is a model. |
