| Biography |  Published by fan951 | Born in 1962, Jodie Foster started acting in commercials at the tender age of two. In 1976 she became famous for her role as the prostitute Iris in Martin Scorsese's 'Taxi Diver' alongside Robert De Niro, and was nominated for an Academy Award. That the same year she also played Tallulah in the all child cast of 'Bugsy Malone'. Although Jodie never had any formal acting classes she went on to win two Oscars before her thirthieth birthday; these were for 'The Accused' (1988) and 'Silence of the Lambs' (1991). She has had non-stop film success ever since, alongside some of Hollwood's leading actors; 'Somersby' (1993, Richard Gere), 'Maverick' (1994, Mel Gibson), 'Nell' (1994, Liam Neeson) and, 'Anna and the King' (1999). For 'Panic Room' (2002), she stepped in at the eleventh hour, to take the lead role when Nicole Kidman was injured. Jodie was fluent in French by the age of fourteen and starred in 'Un Long Dimanche de Fiançailles' (2004) with Audrey Tatou, of 'Amelie' fame. Her son Charles was born in 1998. |
