Robin Williams, who was voted 'least likely to succeed' by his colleagues at high school, remains one of the best loved voices in cinema. Born in Chicago, 1951, he fell in love with theatre at a young age and so went to study at the prestigious Juliard college, in New York. After starring in 'Happy Days' (1978), he landed the part of 'Mork' in the hit TV show 'Mork and Mindy'. A natural comic, he would throw down his script and improvise. This delighted his producers, who would intentionally leave gaps in his script for added entertainment. He has since starred in a string of successful films including 'Good Morning Vietnam' (1987), 'Dead Poets Society' (1989) and 'Mrs Doubtfire' (1993). He won an Oscar for his performance in 'Good Will Hunting' (1997), when he played psychiatrist Sean Maguire, helping Will (Matt Damon) fulfil his destiny as a mathematical genius.
