Biography - Jamie Foxx |  Published by salamanca12 | Jamie Foxx was born on 13 December 1967 and was raised by his grandparents in Turelle, Texas. At the age of three he learned to play the piano, and consequently went on to study music at college. His career direction changed when his girlfriend challenged him to get up on stage at the Comedy Club... the dare payed off and he eventually landed his own TV show (the 'Jamie Foxx Show'). His success as a stand-up comedian opened the doors to cinema and in 1999 he starred in 'Any Given Sunday' with Al Pacino and Cameron Diaz. This was followed in 2000, by 'Ali' , in which he bulked up to play Drew "Bundini" Brown, Muhammad Ali's (Will Smith) coach. In 2004 he acted alongside Tom Cruise, as a taxi driver unwittingly giving a ride to an assasin (Collatarel). Miami Vice is due for release in 2006, and Jamie will be playing Detective Ricardo Tubbs alongside Colin Farrell's James 'Sonny' Crockett. |
