| Biography |  Published by elodielove | Ewan McGregor is just as at ease in serious roles as he is doing comedy or romance. The Scotsman left school at 16 to concentrate on acting, music and theatre. In 1993, Dennis Potter noticed him, offering him a role in the TV series 'Lipstick on Your Collar', after which Danny Boyle took notice and gave him roles in his gritty dramas 'Shallow Grave', 'Trainspotting' and 'A Life Less Ordinary', which did well at the box office. He also won parts in another famous trilogy, as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the first three Star Wars films: 'Episode I – The Phantom Menace'; 'Episode II – Attack of the Clones' in 2002 and 'Episode III - Revenge of the Sith', due out in 2005. After mastering the light sabre, he showed his fans another side in 2001 opposite Nicole Kidman in 'Moulin Rouge'. 'Back Hawk Down', by Ridley Scott followed and in 2003 he played a macho journalist in the retro 'Down with Love' with Renne Zellweger. |
