Biography - Famke Janssen |  Published by superfan8 | Famke Janssen was born on 5th November 1965 in Amsterdam.
She started her career as a model, before deciding to leave for the USA in 1984, where she studied literature and drama at the University of Columbia. Once she graduated, she moved to Los Angeles, to start her acting career with a role alongside Jeff Goldblum in 'Fathers and Sons' in 1992.
Janssen has also put in appearences on the small screen, with series like 'Star Trek: Next generation' and 'Melrose Place' on her CV, as well as a part in 'Ally McBeal' as Robert Downey Junior's ex-wife. More recently, she was a femme fatale in Channel Four's 'Nip/Tuck'.
Her film career really took off in 1995, when she played a Russian spy in 'Goldeneye', which would see her more than a little typecast over the next few years, with roles like the sexy alien teacher in 'The Faculty', or the mercenary wife in 'House on Haunted Hill'. She managed to halt the tide a year later, with her part in the romcom 'Love and Sex'. To most, she will always be known as Jean Gray in 'X-Men' and 'X-Men 2'. She has recently been confirmed for the third installment.
