| Biography |  Published by cazididou | Foppish dandy Hugh Grant made his name in 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' in the nineties, whic he followed up with 'Notting Hill' and 'Bridget Jones' Diary'.
Born in London, his acting career began in 1982 with a role in the film 'Privileged'. Five years later he went on to win a prize at the Venice Film festival, for his interpretation of homosexual Clive Durham in 'Maurice' . Performances in 'The Lair of the White Worm' and 'Bitter Moons' followed, before he shot 'The Remains of the Day' in 1992 with Anthony Hopkins, shortly before 'Four Weddings'.
Several other Richard Curtis films later, included the Bridget Jones films and 'Notting Hill', he has assured himself a place in the UK acting hall of fame. His first attempt at a bad boy role in 'Small Time Crooks' flopped in 2000, his second, as Will in 'About a Boy' hit the mark.
His Hollywood career has included 'Two weeks Notice' in 2002 with Sandra Bullock, but he is at his best in British films. |
