Jennifer Aniston came to prominence in the nineties US sitcom 'Friends', as Rachel. Born in California, she is 'Days of our Lives' actor John Aniston's daughter, and godaughter to Telly Savalas of 'Kojak' fame.

She grew up in New York and attended the famous High School of the Performing Arts, graduating in 1987. Her career started in the theatre and she took parts in several US sitcoms before landing the part of Rachel in 1994, alongside Courtney Cox (Monica), Matt Le Blanc (Joey), Matthew Perry (Chandler), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe) and David Schwimmer (Ross). The series was a runaway success and lead to many film projects for the cast members, which for Jennifer, included 'The Object of my Affection' in 1998, 'Rock Star' in 2001 and 'The Good Girl' a year later. At one point, she was simultaneously filming three different projects, including 'Bruce Almighty' with Jim Carrey.

She married Brad Pitt in 2001.
