| Biography | Published by fandeseries | From 'Pretty Woman' to 'Erin Brockovich', Hollywood actress Julia Roberts never ceases to amaze.
Born in Georgia, she studied drama and journalism before starting her career in television. After acting in many TV films, commercials and low-budget films such as 'Firehouse', 'Satisfaction' and 'Mystic Pizza', she shot 'Steel Magnolias' in 1989.
The following year came her big break, with 'Pretty Woman' opposite Richard Gere, which lead to 'The Pelican Brief' with Denzel Washington in 1993, where Roberts confirmed her star status. More recent films include 'My Best Friend's Wedding' in 1997, opposite Cameron Diaz and Rupert Everett, 'Notting Hill' with Hugh Grant in 1999 and 'Just Married' with Richard Gere in 2000. Later in the same year, Steven Sodenbergh chose her to take the title role in 'Erin Brockovich', for which she won an Oscar.
Two years later, she made 'Ocean's Eleven' with George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon, commanding the highest ever fee for a Hollywood actress. 'Mona Lisa Smile' was released in 2004, the same year in which she gave birth to twins. |
