| Biography | Published by keanureeves2 | Keanu Reeves, best-known for taking the part of 'Neo' in 'The Matrix', was born in Beirut, in Lebanon in 1964. Following his parents' divorce, he moved frequently as a child, before abandoning his studies at 17 to embark upon a film career.
After several small parts in TV sitcoms, he won a role in 'Youngblood' in 1986, thanks to his talent for ice hockey. 'Dangerous Liaisons' followed in 1988, before 'I Love You to Death' and 'Point Break'. By now a successful actor, Reeves took roles in 'Dracula', 'Much Ado About Nothing' and 'Little Buddha' before shooting 'Speed', with Sandra Bullock, which would change the course of his career.
Eager not to be typecast, he refused to be involved in the sequel, to go on tour with his band, 'Dogstar'. In 1997, he starred opposite Al Pacino in 'The Devil's Advocate', before embarking on the Matrix trilogy with the Wachowski brothers in 1999. The following year, he played the baddie in 'The Watcher' and 'The Gift', before changing tack again and playing a baseball trainer in 'Hardball' in 2001. |
