| Biography | Published by thalia90 | Renee Zellweger has shown herself to be one of the most versatile comedy actresses of her generation, with two Bridget Jones films under her belt and several collaborations with Jim Carrey showing highlighting her talents.
Originally from Texas, she took dance and drama lessons as a child and dreamt of being an actress. She began to turn her ambitions into reality when she won her first film role in 1993, in 'My Boyfriend's Back'. The following year, she made 'Generation 90', with Winona Ryder and Ethan Hawke, which she followed with 'Love and a .45' and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career in Hollywood.
Her big break was the role of Dorothy Boyd opposite Tom Cruise in 'Jerry Maguire'. But she was drawn to comedy and made 'Nurse Betty' in 2000, which would Seal her reputation. 'Me, Myself and Irene' followed, with Jim Carrey, before 'Bridget Jones' Diary' came out in 2001, to enormous success.
Zellweger honed her singing and dancing skills in 'Chicago' in 2003, opposite Catherine Zeta-Jones and Richard Gere, which was another blockbuster. 'Down With Love' and 'Cold Mountain' followed, before 'Bridget Jones: the Edge of Reason', with Hugh Grant. |
